The tree

This tree was complicated to create because it was an ambitious project that was radically different from the others.

The tree is about 2 meters high. My team and I used polyurethane foam on a plastic tube to create the illusion of a trunk and bark, which we then painted brown. We created the branches in the same way, applying the foam to iron bars. Finally, the leaves were a painstaking and tedious job, as each one had to be cut into shape from cardboard, folded, glued in place, the half toothpick added to secure it, and then repeated for each leaf.

I'm not totally satisfied with the final result. If I had to do it again, I'd choose another technique to give the illusion of bark.
